Course Synopsis

This course aims to help family caregivers gain foresight that will help in aligning their and their family members expectations and that of the helper in a realistic manner. Employers have a crucial role and responsibility in managing domestic helpers . Family caregivers will learn tips to effectively articulate expectations through effective communication, keen observation and supervision skills and actively listening to helpers to develop a healthy rapport and to build trust to get feedback on understanding the helper’s expectations and needs. Ultimately this course aims is to help family caregivers get the employer-employee relationship with the domestic helpers off on the right foot for a “win-win” scenario for the family.

Course Title: Personalised Dementia Care Coaching for Family Caregivers

Duration: 4 hrs

Venue: 1 to 1 session at client / care-recipient home​

Who should attend

For family caregivers of Persons living with Dementia. Caregivers will be able to apply appropriate strategies and communication techniques to manage behaviours of concern of Persons living with dementia and practice self-care in their caregiving journey.

Course Synopsis

  • ​Understanding of person-centred dementia care, and ways to assist the person living with dementia (PLWD).

  • Personalised practical strategies to apply person-centred care and enhance self-care for family caregivers.

  • Tips and strategies for effective communication with relevant stakeholders and apply a range of options to manage the impact of behavioural change(s).
